Emergency Planning
An emergency is defined by Emergency Management Australia (EMA) and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA – USA) as:
- “Any event that arises internally or from external sources, which may adversely affect the safety of persons in a building or the community generally and requires immediate response by the occupants”; and
- “Any unplanned event that can cause deaths, or significant injuries to employees, customers or the public, disrupt operations, cause physical or environmental damage, or threaten the facility’s property.”
For the wellbeing of employees, sub-contractors, user-groups, customers, visitors and the organisation; both emergency planning (via emergency planning and procedures checklists) and an emergency plan must be developed specifically for the organisation and nuances of each site.
Our Emergency Plans are easy to follow, written in plain english and incorporate the four elements of comprehensive emergency management:
- Prevention;
- Preparedness;
- Response; and
- Recovery.
